The Nonsense of Changing Time

March 10, 2018

Tonight is one of those ridiculous twice-annual changing the clocks rigmaroles — something we are obliged to do just so the powers-that-be can see us scramble to do something completely inane and stupid and pointless just because we have been told to do so. And it doesn’t even synchronise globally.

It is the twice-a-year year moment when living in Saskatchewan makes perfect sense.

This idiocy also shows that I am barely connected to the Internet of Things. The computers, the telephone, and the TV cable box all have the times switched automatically by central systems. But my coffee maker, stove, bedside clock, the battery clock on the wall, and even my swanky Bose radio all have to be re-set manually.

Who has time for all this?  When they make me God, there will be no more of this malarkey, believe you me!

Now That’s Blue!

March 10, 2018

I took a walk around the neighbourhood today, taking advantage of the splendid weather. I have been sedentary most of the winter, so it was a lovely feeling to catch up with the streets and buildings once again.

Perhaps it was the startlingly clear bright light, after so many months of grey and gloom, but I really hadn’t noticed before just how blue the house on the corner really is.  I love it!

Nor how yellow this block on Salsbury:

That’s the way to brighten up a neighbourhood!
