Celebrating the WISE Hall

August 2, 2013

WISE HallOn Friday 8th August at 7:30pm, the WISE Hall at Victoria & Adanac will receive a heritage plaque as one the 125 Places That Matter in Vancouver.

As Michael Kluckner writes at the Grandview Heritage Group blog, the WISE Hall is “unusual due to its evolution from a church hall (for the old Methodist/United church that’s now The Cultch) into a social space for groups of United Kingdom immigrants (the Welsh Irish Scottish English – the WISE), and now into a neighbourhood alternative performance space.”

The plaque ceremony is free, and attendees get a $5 discount to a performance at the Hall that night.  Such a deal!
