The truly remarkable life of Yves St Laurent came to an end this weekend. He was a pivotal force in both modern fashion and modern marketing through branding.
The New York Times has a long list of quotes marking his death. My favourite is from his longtime partner, Pierre Berge:
“Chanel gave women freedom. Yves Saint Laurent gave them power.”
