I am finally getting around to reading William Gibson’s “Zero History.” One of the things I really enjoy in Gibson’s work is his ability to craft stories and make important statements from the detritus of modern life. In this book I was struck by this perceptive observation:
“Some very considerable part of the gestural language of public places, that had once belonged to cigarettes, now belonged to phones.” [p.103]
